About Picchetti Winery
Picchetti Winery is one of California's most historically founding wine estates — the Picchetti family's Italian-heritage surname on a Montebello Road property they established in 1896, when the Santa Cruz Mountains were California's most celebrated wine region and the Italian immigrant families who farmed them were building what would become a century of California wine heritage.
The estate survived Prohibition, subsequent neglect, and an extended period of near-abandonment before restoration brought the property back to production. The historic ranch house, winery building, and peacock population (the Picchetti peacocks have been on the property since the 1890s) make the estate one of the most genuinely historic wine tourism destinations in the greater Bay Area.
The estate produces Zinfandel, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon from the Montebello Road estate and Santa Cruz Mountains purchased sources.
