About Sodhani Vineyards
Arvind Sodhani, who built a career at Intel Corporation as executive vice president and president of Intel Capital, first developed a taste for wine while studying in London and later became a devoted Bordeaux and Burgundy collector. He and his wife Beverly made their first vintages from purchased To Kalon grapes at a custom-crush facility in 2006, then spent years searching for a hillside property of their own before buying a 12-acre St. Helena vineyard in July 2013, a site that had previously sold all its grapes to Harlan Estate.
The 6.5-acre planted vineyard, at 400 feet elevation on rare volcanic Aiken stony clay loam in the foothills of Spring Mountain, was planted in 2000 by noted viticulturist Jim Barbour to three distinct Cabernet Sauvignon clones. The Sodhanis hired acclaimed winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown for their debut 2013 vintage, and he crafted the estate's wines through 2019, aging both the Estate and Reserve bottlings in 100% new French oak for 20 months.
