About Sones Cellars
Sones Cellars is a family winery on Ingalls Street, part of the run of small westside producers a short walk from each other in Santa Cruz.
The focus is narrow and deliberately Californian: vineyard-designated Petite Sirah and Zinfandel above all, made in small lots.
The winery is direct about the atmosphere it wants, describing a comfortable room where wine snobbery is not welcome and questions are. It is a good first stop for anyone who finds the region's more formal seated tastings hard going.
