Sweet Heart Winery

Sweet Heart Winery is a riverside winery and event center in Loveland, set on eight acres along the Big Thompson River at the base of the Rocky Mountains near the Devil's Backbone. It started with a passion for California grapes, a humble garage, and a few barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon, and grew into one of Northern Colorado's most striking winery destinations.

The winery is housed in a 6,600-square-foot timber-frame building constructed without nails, whose barrel room has the largest center-post-free span of any such building in Colorado, sided in beetle-kill pine and heated and cooled geothermally. Construction was delayed by the 2013 floods, after which the founders raised the site with tons of dirt. Most grapes come from small-lot California vineyards in Napa and Sonoma, and with help from Colorado State University's viticulture program the winery also planted cold-tolerant Aromella whites on site. Recognized as a Top Ten Winery in the US by The Scout Guide and NOCO Magazine's Best Winery, it pours wines and hard ciders by the flight, glass, or bottle, hosts weddings and events, and gives back through partnerships with Children's Hospital Colorado and veterans' and women's causes.
