About The Blue Beryl Winery
The Blue Beryl Winery is a mother-daughter estate winery and vineyard at the base of Mt. Garfield in Palisade. Winemaker Courtney, born and raised in Palisade in the very house the vineyard surrounds, returned home after a fine-arts degree and an apprenticeship at Hermosa Vineyards to plant these vines in 2011 and release her first wine in 2019.
Courtney makes the wine, helps manage the vineyard, and paints the bottle labels herself, so the estate carries a strong personal and artistic stamp. The lineup is firmly dry and distinctly Palisade: Orange Muscat made dry rather than sweet, Chenin Blanc offered fresh and barrel-aged, and reds that lean into Malbec, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon, plus a chilled, natural-fermentation Beaujolais-style Cabernet Franc called Harvest Toast. The modern tasting room, complete with a wine elevator, opens to a patio and lawn with mountain views and room for dogs and picnics.
Hours, tasting fees, and reservation policies change with the season, so it is worth checking the winery's website or calling ahead before you visit, especially on weekends. The details on this profile may have shifted since publication, and the producer is always the most authoritative source.
Blue beryl, a stone said to promote happiness, much like wine.
