About The Ordinary Fellow
The Ordinary Fellow is winemaker Ben Parsons' small-batch craft winery in downtown Palisade, housed in the historic United Fruit Growers Co-Op peach-packing shed beside the railroad tracks. Parsons, who earlier founded Denver's Infinite Monkey Theorem, returned to the Western Slope to focus on this project.
The winery takes a minimal, hands-off approach to classic French varietals, growing regeneratively farmed, hand-harvested fruit in southwest Colorado and vinifying it on site in Palisade. The name comes from an old English pub and reflects a spirit of welcome, where, as they put it, only the wine has labels. Expect Riesling, Albarino, rose, traditional-method sparkling, and reds, poured in a lively space with a food truck and a shaded patio.
Hours, tasting fees, and reservation policies change with the season, so it is worth checking the winery's website or calling ahead before you visit, especially on weekends. The details on this profile may have shifted since publication, and the producer is always the most authoritative source.
Only the wine has labels, here we are a fellowship.
