About Adastra Vineyards
Adastra Vineyards is a family-run, organically farmed estate on Las Amigas Road in the Carneros district at the southern end of Napa Valley. Chris and Naomi Thorpe bought the Carneros ranch in the mid-1980s and named it Adastra after the phrase per aspera ad astra, through striving to the stars; the vineyard has been farmed organically and organically farmed since 2005, producing a small amount of estate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Merlot and Syrah each year.
Adastra is not set up for visitors: there are no tastings at the Las Amigas Road estate, and the winery's former Sonoma tasting room has closed. The label continues to operate and sells its wines through direct online sales and wine-club memberships rather than a public tasting room.
Anyone interested in Adastra should buy through the winery's website or join its wine club rather than plan a visit, as there is no tasting room open to the public.
