About Bazán Cellars
Bazán Cellars is a family-owned boutique winery in the heart of downtown Napa, founded in 2005 by proprietor Mario Bazán. The winery's story is one of the most compelling in all of Napa Valley, Mario began his career as a farmworker, tending some of the most iconic vineyards in the region. Over fifty years, he rose from laborer to business owner, cultivating an intimate understanding of Napa Valley terroir that few winemakers can match. His wines honor his humble Oaxacan roots while showcasing the world-class potential of Napa fruit.
The tasting room, nestled on Opera House Plaza at 1000 Main Street, offers an intimate and personal experience that stands apart from the Valley's larger estates. Bazán Cellars produces two distinct labels: the flagship Mario Bazán line, headlined by a coveted 100% Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, and the RAMA label. The portfolio also includes Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, and a Rosé of Cabernet Sauvignon. Tasting experiences start at $60 per guest (complimentary for wine club members) and run approximately 45-60 minutes. For Cabernet devotees, the elevated six-wine experience at $85 features rare single-barrel selections alongside library wines.
One of Bazán Cellars' most unique offerings is the Oaxacan Mole & Wine Pairing, a cultural journey that pairs six Mario Bazán wines with three authentic mole dishes from Oaxaca, Mexico. It's a celebration of heritage, craftsmanship, and the timeless bond between food and wine that you simply won't find anywhere else in Napa. Napa County residents can take advantage of a 2-for-1 tasting on Thursdays and Fridays. Outdoor tastings on the plaza are available weather permitting, and a private room accommodates groups of up to ten. The tasting room is open Thursday through Monday, 11am to 6pm (closed Tuesday and Wednesday). Whether you're a first-time visitor to downtown Napa or a seasoned wine traveler, Bazán Cellars offers an authentic, deeply personal wine journey that inspires with every sip.
