About Boeschen Vineyards
Boeschen Vineyards was founded in 1999 when Dann and Susan Boeschen acquired a 35-acre property in St. Helena that included existing vines; the family farms 11 estate acres today, with son Doug Boeschen serving as winemaker alongside his father and brother-in-law. The estate's first commercial release came in 2006.
The vineyard sits in a private valley backed by obsidian-flecked 'glass mountain' formations, with soils ranging from deep loam to volcanic ash over an impenetrable subsoil layer. Fourteen distinct vineyard blocks, planted mostly to Cabernet Sauvignon along with Merlot vines dating to the mid-1970s, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Sauvignon Blanc, are farmed under Fish Friendly Farming certification, which Boeschen earned in 2007 as only the ninth Napa winery to do so.
