About BOND Estates
BOND is one of Napa Valley's most exclusive labels, created in 2001 by Bill Harlan of Harlan Estate as an ambitious study in terroir. Rather than a single wine, BOND is a set of individual Grand Cru-style Cabernet Sauvignons, each drawn from a distinct Napa hillside site and made with the same exacting hand: Vecina, Melbury, St. Eden, Pluribus, and Quella, alongside the Matriarch blend.
This is not a stop you can simply drive up to. BOND has no public tasting room; the wines are made in tiny quantities and offered largely by allocation to a mailing list, which places them among the most sought-after and collectible Cabernets in California. The reward for seeking them out is a rare, side-by-side look at how five different Napa sites express a single grape at the very top end.
