About Boich Family Cellar
John Boich, a former Bay Area finance executive, bought his northern Mount Veeder property in the mid-1990s after a spontaneous St. Helena real-estate visit, then spent eight years preparing the land before planting 220 Syrah vines in 2009. The estate Wall Road Vineyard now carries three acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc at about 1,850 feet. Winemaker Jeff Ames has crafted every vintage since the inaugural 2012 release.
Production runs around 2,000 cases a year of 100% varietal, single-vineyard wines from proven sites: Beckstoffer To Kalon, Georges III, and Missouri Hopper for Cabernet, Howell Mountain fruit, and Sonoma's Ritchie Vineyard for Chardonnay. Wines sell by allocation, with member offers each September and March, and hospitality ranges from the estate to a lounge in the Hunnicutt wine cave and pairing dinners at Napa Valley restaurants.
Every vintage since 2012 has been made by Jeff Ames from a short list of Napa's most proven vineyards, To Kalon included.
