Liparita Cellars is a Napa Valley wine producer, established in 1986. The Liparita label has been retired: Hoopes Vineyard, which acquired the brand in 2006, no longer bottles wine under the Liparita name. The Liparita name and its original stone winery trace to Howell Mountain, Napa Valley's benchland AVA known for structured, high-elevation Cabernet.
Spencer Hoopes purchased the Liparita brand in 2006 without acquiring the historic winery building, which still stands near Las Posadas Road on Howell Mountain. Per The Napa Wine Project, Hoopes no longer produces wine under the Liparita name; the fruit now goes into Hoopes Vineyard's own Cabernet Sauvignon.
We have not found a published schedule for routine public tasting at Liparita Cellars. The wines are sold direct or through the trade, and any visit would be by arrangement, so contact the producer before planning one.
