Matthiasson Wines was founded in 2003 by Steve and Jill Matthiasson, who came to winemaking from backgrounds in sustainable agriculture and the local-food movement. The winery and tasting room are located at 3175 Dry Creek Road in Napa, within the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley AVA.
The Matthiassons farm Linda Vista Vineyard, Cressida Vineyard, and the Phoenix Vineyard overlooking the tasting room using Regenerative Organic Viticulture across seven pillars, including soil health, biodiversity, and water conservation, and hold CCOF organic certification. Alongside Napa Valley Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, the winery is known for rare varieties such as Ribolla Gialla, Refosco, Schioppettino, and Lagrein.
