About Maybach Family Vineyards
Maybach Family Vineyards is named for the Maybach automobile, the German luxury marque whose history stretches back to Wilhelm Maybach's partnership with Gottlieb Daimler in the early twentieth century, resurrected in the twenty-first century as the most elevated expression of Mercedes-Benz craftsmanship. Tom and Elisa Brown chose this name to declare their Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon project's ambition: wine of equivalent precision, longevity, and craftsmanship to the most celebrated automobiles.
The estate produces Materium (the flagship single-vineyard expression from a specially selected Oakville source), Emblem (the estate Napa Valley blend), and other luxury Cabernet Sauvignon bottlings from carefully selected valley vineyard blocks. The Maybach philosophy is consistency at the highest level, the same standard, vintage after vintage, without the variation that less meticulous producers accept.
