About McKenzie-Mueller Vineyards & Winery
McKenzie-Mueller Vineyards & Winery is a small, family-owned winery in Napa's Los Carneros district, established in 1989 by Karen McKenzie and Robert (Bob) Mueller. The estate sits on heavy clay soil at 2530 Las Amigas Road, where cool Carneros breezes support both Bordeaux varieties and Pinot Noir.
Winemaker Bob Mueller brings three generations of Napa Valley farming experience and more than 40 years in the industry, having served as director of enology at Robert Mondavi Winery and worked on the original Opus One winemaking team; he was also a founding member of the Los Carneros Water District. The winery bottles all of its wines unfiltered and built to age, across a lineup that includes Pinot Grigio (among the first planted in Carneros), Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Daughter Samantha now runs the winery as CEO, carrying the family operation toward a third generation.
Winemaker Bob Mueller worked on the original Opus One team before planting one of Los Carneros' first Pinot Grigio blocks at his own family winery.
