Michael Mondavi Family Estate is a Napa Valley winery in Carneros, founded in 2004. A fourth-generation Mondavi winemaker, Michael co-founded Robert Mondavi Winery with his father in 1966 and served as its winemaker for the first eight harvests before eventually becoming its president and CEO. Started before the family sold their namesake winery, Michael launched his own Atlas Peak vineyard in 1999, five years before the family sold Robert Mondavi Winery to Constellation Brands in 2004.

A grandmother's philosophy, still guiding the wine, Michael often cites his grandmother Rosa Mondavi's advice to make wines that invite people back for another glass, a principle behind the Emblem and M labels today.
