About Mira Winery
Mira Winery takes its name from the Spanish imperative: mira — look, behold. It is an invitation to pay attention, to notice the thing being presented. Applied to wine, it suggests that the wines in the glass reward careful observation — that terroir, if you take the time to look, reveals itself.
Founded by Jim Baskow in 2010, Mira sources from some of Napa Valley's most expressive sites: Stags Leap District for its signature iron-rich volcanic soil and silky tannic structure, Hyde Vineyard in Carneros for cool-climate Cabernet of unusual aromatic precision, and broader Napa Valley blocks for structural depth.
Wine Advocate has scored Mira's Stags Leap District and Hyde Vineyard Cabernets at 92–96 points, recognizing the quality of the sourcing and Jim Baskow's restrained, site-expressive winemaking approach.
