About Montgomery Vineyard
Montgomery Vineyard is a boutique Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon producer founded in 2003, farming one of the most geologically complex and scenically dramatic growing environments in the Napa Valley. Spring Mountain's steep western slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains, at elevations from 800 to over 2,000 feet, produce Cabernet Sauvignon of intense concentration, firm tannin structure, and the kind of mountain-derived complexity that distinguishes spring mountain wines from both valley floor and Howell Mountain productions.
Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is the focus, farmed from Spring Mountain vineyard blocks where thin soils, significant elevation, and cool mountain air slow ripening and build natural acidity. The Montgomery winemaking philosophy embraces this mountain character, wines built for aging, with the tannin architecture and acidity to evolve gracefully over fifteen to twenty-five years from vintage.
Tastings are by appointment at $65, with the Spring Mountain location requiring a scenic drive from the valley floor that itself becomes part of the tasting experience. Two decades of Spring Mountain farming since the 2003 founding have given the Montgomery team the vintage depth and vineyard knowledge to make increasingly confident decisions about what their site can reliably produce.
"Montgomery Vineyard is Spring Mountain Cabernet in its most committed expression, mountain farming, mountain patience, and wines that repay both with years of complexity."
Wine is available primarily through the mailing list, with tasting appointments offering direct access to current releases and occasional library vintages. For serious Napa Cabernet collectors, Spring Mountain's unique character makes Montgomery Vineyard a compelling addition to any mountain-focused allocation portfolio.
