About Morlet Family Vineyards
Morlet Family Vineyards was founded by Luc Morlet, a fifth-generation French winemaker from Champagne who relocated to Napa Valley in 1996 and worked at Newton Vineyard before launching his own label with his wife Jodie, releasing a first vintage in 2006. The winery operates from a stone, gravity-fed winery built in 1880 by William Castner, just north of St. Helena.
Morlet's winemaking blends "Old World" French technique with Napa Valley fruit, using low-intervention methods and meticulous vineyard farming and sorting to produce wines the winery says show depth, complexity and aging potential; critic Robert M. Parker Jr. praised Luc Morlet's ability to bring French savoir faire to ripe California fruit. Production is extremely limited across roughly 15 different labels, and the winery is not open to the public, visits are by appointment only and described as difficult to obtain.
