Nickel & Nickel occupies a historic Oakville farmstead across Highway 29 from the Sullenger Vineyard. The winery has a sharply defined purpose: producing single-vineyard, single-varietal wines that allow guests to compare individual Napa Valley sites. The restored Queen Anne-style house, Gleason Barn and working cellar give the visit a historic agricultural setting while the tasting remains highly focused.
Cabernet Sauvignon from different vineyards is central to the experience, though the wider portfolio includes additional single-vineyard wines. The value of the flight comes from comparison. Rather than moving through unrelated prestige bottles, guests can examine how site, appellation and vintage affect wines made with the same grape. The host provides the vineyard context needed to make those differences understandable.
The principal appointment includes a guided tour of the farmstead, fermentation cellar and barrel room followed by a seated tasting with artisanal cheeses and accompaniments. Current reservations commonly last between 90 minutes and one hour and forty-five minutes. Dedicated private group experiences are available for parties of nine or more. The farmstead provides a visual identity distinct from the neighboring Far Niente estate.
