About Pelican Ranch Winery
Pelican Ranch is on Bean Creek Road in Scotts Valley, and describes itself as the town's only production winery.
The focus is Burgundian and Rhone: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah above all, made in small lots from vineyards the winery rates highly. Alongside those sit rose and fruit wines.
Production is tiny, which the winery is cheerfully blunt about - it reckons you are unlikely to find its bottles outside the Santa Cruz Mountains at all, and bills itself as the best winery you have never heard of.
Tastings run on Saturdays, with private tastings arranged separately, and the winery puts on occasional events through the year.
Scotts Valley's only production winery, and by its own account the best one you have never heard of.
