About Philip Togni Vineyard
Philip Togni Vineyard carries the full name of one of California's most respected old-school winemakers — Philip Togni, whose winemaking career spans six decades and includes time at Château Lascombes in Bordeaux, Chalone Vineyard, and Cuvaison before establishing his personal Spring Mountain estate in 1983. Togni's classical Bordelais training is visible in every bottle: restrained, structured, built for long aging rather than early drinking.
The Spring Mountain estate produces Cabernet Sauvignon from estate vineyard blocks on volcanic and sedimentary mountain soils at high elevation, where the diurnal temperature swings create wines of the structural depth and longevity that Philip Togni's old-school philosophy demands. Wine Advocate has scored Togni's estate Cabernet at 93–97 points.
