About Pott Wine
Pott Wine is Aaron Pott's personal winemaking project — his surname on a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon label that reflects one of the more unusually cosmopolitan winemaking careers in California wine. Aaron Pott studied winemaking in Bordeaux, served as winemaker at Château Troplong Mondot in Saint-Émilion (one of the Right Bank's most celebrated estates), and then spent years as winemaker at George Lucas's Skywalker Ranch in Marin County before establishing his own label.
The St. Helena estate produces Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from carefully selected valley sources with the Bordeaux-trained philosophical sensibility that Aaron Pott's Saint-Émilion experience informed. The result is Cabernet with a more restrained, Bordeaux-inflected approach than most Napa Valley luxury Cabernet — site-expressive, structured, built for the table rather than the tasting room.
Wine Advocate has scored Pott Wine's Napa Valley Cabernet at 91–94 points.
