ZD Wines is a Napa Valley winery in Rutherford, founded in 1969. Founded by two aerospace engineers, Norman deLeuze and Gino Zepponi pooled $3,000 each to launch ZD Wines in 1968, years before either had any formal winemaking background. The first wine ever labeled Carneros, ZD's 1969 Pinot Noir was the first commercial wine to carry the Carneros name, over a decade before Carneros became an official Napa Valley appellation.

A wine that blends every vintage since 1992, ZD's Abacus is a solera-style Cabernet Sauvignon that incorporates a portion of every Reserve vintage the winery has made since 1992, layering decades of wine into each bottle.
