About August Briggs Winery
August Briggs Winery was founded in 1995 and grew from 600 cases to about 3,000 cases of small-lot, single-vineyard wines drawn from 14 vineyards across Napa, Sonoma and Contra Costa counties. In 2011 founder Joe Briggs sold the label to his nephew, winemaker Jesse Inman, and three longtime employees, making it one of California's rare employee-owned wineries.
The tasting room at 1307 Lincoln Avenue in downtown Calistoga welcomes walk-ins and pours on a terrace overlooking the Napa River, open Friday through Monday 11 to 5. Rarities like Pinot Meunier and Charbono anchor a lineup that sells out fast, and tasting fees are waived with a bottle purchase.
