About Mount Veeder Magic Vineyards
Mount Veeder Magic Vineyards is named for the seemingly supernatural quality that Mount Veeder volcanic terrain imparts to Cabernet Sauvignon — the mineral precision, structural complexity, and aging potential that the mountain's poor volcanic soils, extreme diurnal swings, and high elevation produce through what appears (from the outsider's perspective) like magical transformation.
The Mount Veeder estate produces Cabernet Sauvignon from volcanic and sedimentary mountain soils with the magic-philosophy declaration: the mountain does things to wine that the valley floor cannot, and the mechanism of that magic is the vineyard's challenge and the winemaker's role to reveal. Wine Advocate has scored Mount Veeder Magic's Cabernet at 91–94 points.
