About Ziata Wines
Ziata Wines is named for ziata — the Italian dialect word for 'aunt,' the familiar endearment used in Italian families for the aunts who hold the community together, who remember the recipes, who show up with food when someone is sick. Jeff and Kathleen Ames chose this intimate family term to declare their Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon project as something personal and familial: not a brand, not a concept, but a gift made with family love.
The estate produces Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from carefully selected vineyard sources with the winemaking philosophy that the familial naming implies — wines made with genuine care for the people who will drink them, not for scores or critical attention.
Wine Advocate has scored Ziata's Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon at 92–95 points, confirming that the familial endearment philosophy produces wine worthy of bringing to someone you love.
